Advocating for the Central Business community since 2007

CREATED FOR THE COMMUNITY

The Central City Business Association was established by the Christchurch City Council to support CBD businesses and attract visitors and locals to the city centre. When CCBA began, the membership area was just four blocks (Durham to Manchester, between Hereford and Lichfield). One of our first initiatives was to widen our boundaries to represent more of the city!

Today, the CCBA represents Montreal to Madras Street, between Kilmore and St Asaph.

CCBA PRIORITIES

Our priorities have been clear:

  • Strong advocacy
  • A safer city
  • Delivering real value for our members
  • Grassroots on the ground every day, dealing with real issues and working towards real solutions

In our Strategic and Annual Business Plan, you will see the term PARTNERSHIPS come up under each of our priorities as we recognise we are in this together, and it's together we will find the solutions

Some historical achievements

  • The ‘Boxing Day Replay’ event helped business owners recoup revenue lost to aftershocks on Boxing Day.
  • Instrumental in bringing the post-earthquake Re:START Container Mall to life

…and much, much more - we’re always working on new initiatives, events, and ways to cement Central Christchurch as the place to be.
